  Went during the summer to celebrate a birthday. It happened to be raining, our wish was to sit out on the water but, due to the rain we were forced to sit inside...one of the reasons we chose Alicante's. We noticed one open table (only one left) along the windows and asked for it. We were told "NO" as "that is left open for the owners friends who sit in the bar and whenever they are ready to eat, they will seat themselves at that table". It was early and the waiter couldn't even tell us if they were here but, said it must remain open. That table sat open the entire time and was still open when we were leaving 1 hour and 10 minutes later. This is a busy restaurant with extremely pricey food and smaller portions and I found that to be extremely selfish of whomever felt the need to keep that table occupied for such a long period of time. To the owners, although it's kind of you to be so generous to your friends, you are still running a business and if I wanted to sit against the wall I could do that at any restaurant. I chose Alicante's for your atmosphere first. To see that table sit open across from us and have your waiter apologize to us, as he said it happens "all the time" is not very good business practice. Your friends should be more considerate and give you a little bit of notice when they are within an hour of sitting down to eat. The entire night is a bit on the ridiculous side. I'd rather not chance it again as customer service doesn't seem to be your number one priority.

  Some of the very best food and service you will find anywhere. Wonderful atmosphere. Complimentary valet. My wife and I love it here.

  Went tonight for a birthday. Called ahead and was told that "99% of the menu can be made gluten free". Get there and upon walking in we are asked how many by the hostess and told her 5. As rude and cold as can be she made it a problem that we were there and said she had no idea where to seat us. Not a "Hello", "Welcome to Alicante", a smile - NOTHING. Didn't walk us to our table but did point to it in the lounge.
  
  Go to order and after 3 options I was told by our waiter that the options in fact couldn't be made gluten free. Asked for the manager at this point before I almost walked out, who then came over and explained that again the options could be made gluten free. Clearly the staff is all over the place and poorly trained in a FOOD DISEASE that they advertise they cater too. This is untrue and just to get you in the door. They lie and say everything is made fresh to order which isn't because if it was then why is everything pre-made and now can't be made fresh to order like the stuffing to the artichokes and the salmon special. Fresh is fresh right?
  
  Overall the food was just ok, the woman at the door who I'm told is always there is just a complete witch and made the experience dry from the very first second. Why would you put someone so dry at the door?
  
  The only saving grace was the manager who after being requested stayed with us and made sure the experience didn't get worst. I'll never ever go back and my family goes quite frequently yet this was my first time.
